-Demonstrated and evaluated contribution of silicon and graphite in blended anode through interaction-mechanism study by in-operando XRD tech and model-aided electrochemical analysis, enabling sophisticated design towards better material utilization.
-Implemented electrode architecture in micro-scale providing beyond-energy-storage functions.
-Designed a new electrochemical method decoupling solid-electrolyte-interphase formation and lithiation on silicon.
-Instrumented testing fixtures allowing re-lithiation thus extended battery life (patent applied) and in-situ thermal conductivity measurement on a working battery.
-Set up and streamlined pouch cell fabrication in support of internal and external projects, recognized as an important lab milestone.
-Correlated electrode particle cracking to electrochemical and mechanical degradation of 40Ah commercial cells by post-mortem analysis.
