► Implemented $2MM/yr in hamburger formulation cost via procedure and equipment improvement. This work also resulted in the plant being removed from customer probation.
► Increased throughput of deli meat operation by improving first pass yield from 70% to 96%.
► Identified $700K/yr Slim Jim overpack savings opportunity by implementing SPC.
► Identified means to double can-cooling capacity in tomato operation.

Basic American Foods, Engineering
Process Engineering Project Manager, 1992 to 2000

► Responsible for identifying and leading cost-savings/profit enhancement opportunities. Supported five plants, six product lines, and twenty manufacturing lines. One of four SPC/DOE trainers in Basic American.
► Led commercialization of $3.5MM Betty Crocker Potato Buds line, increasing capacity by 60K lbs/day.
► Led commercialization of $500K, $2.5MM Potato Pearl production lines.
► Identified and implemented a $500K/yr green chile raw material savings using mass balance and DOE. This had an enormous impact to profitability for this $11MM business. No capital was required.
► Saved $450K/yr for the Potato Pearl business via transport and packaging modeling. Developed Potato Pearl production strategy to avoid a $1MM+ upcharge.
► Managed Potato Pearl capacity increase project resulting in a $2MM profit enhancement.
► Identified $300K annual savings and 1.5MM lb. annual solid waste reduction for potato peeling.
