► Doubled pilot plant capacity to more than 1000 trials/year.
► Developed systems and expertise necessary to become a Food Canning Establishment (FCE) for Low Acid Canned Foods (LACF).
► Validated and filed a UHT and two aseptic fillers with FDA.
► Improved aseptic sterility rates from less than 60% to greater than 99%. Zero insterilities since October, 2013 (over 130K containers).
► Implemented systems to become ISO 9001, 14001, 22001, and OHSAS 18001 compliant.
► Led site selection and technical design teams for new R&D center.

ConAgra Foods, R&D

► Led development and commercialization effort to save $14MM/yr in Slim Jim via co-extrusion. (Patent granted.)
► Implemented $2MM/yr in hamburger formulation cost via procedure and equipment improvement. This work also resulted in the plant being removed from customer probation.
► Increased throughput of deli meat operation by improving first pass yield from 70% to 96%.
► Identified $700K/yr Slim Jim overpack savings opportunity by implementing SPC.
► Identified means to double can-cooling capacity in tomato operation.
► Implemented $2MM/yr savings in tomato peeling.
► Managed 3 exempt employees.
► Offered Director-level position to lead Process team in 2006 (declined for family reasons).

Ecolab, R&D

► Led 15 member cross-functional team in the renovation of $200MM warewash product line.

Basic American Foods, Engineering
Process Engineering Project Manager, 1992 to 2000

► Responsible for identifying and leading cost-savings/profit enhancement opportunities. Supported five plants, six product lines, and twenty manufacturing lines. One of four SPC/DOE trainers in Basic American.
► Led commercialization of $3.5MM Betty Crocker Potato Buds line, increasing capacity by 60K lbs/day.
► Led commercialization of $500K, $2.5MM Potato Pearl production lines.
► Identified and implemented a $500K/yr green chile raw material savings using mass balance and DOE. This had an enormous impact to profitability for this $11MM business. No capital was required.
► Saved $450K/yr for the Potato Pearl business via transport and packaging modeling. Developed Potato Pearl production strategy to avoid a $1MM+ upcharge.
► Managed Potato Pearl capacity increase project resulting in a $2MM profit enhancement.
► Identified $300K annual savings and 1.5MM lb. annual solid waste reduction for potato peeling.
